Installation Technician

Sound Designs has been an technology integrator for over 30 years. We are members of the CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) and are focused on delivering outstanding technology integration in our clients homes. Sound Designs offers a fast paced, fun environment where we deliver projects for customized home automation solutions including distributed entertainment systems, lighting controls, motorized shading, HVAC systems, and network integration.

We are currently looking for Installation Technicians to work out of our Mequon, WI office. Our ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3-5 years of AV installation and integration experience, but we are open to candidates from all levels of experience who are searching for a career in the residential A/V industry.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Cut, terminate, and identify various audio, video, data cables, and wire
  • Installation of TVs, speakers, video projectors, projector screens
  • Possess an understanding of rack building procedure and tying in racks on-site
  • Accurately document the installation procedure and complete necessary paperwork
  • Interface with customers and vendors on job sites
  • Working knowledge of Control4 is a plus.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting using various software and testing tools
  • Must have an understanding of AV floorplans, wire schedules, elevations & schematics
  • Basic understanding of lighting and shade systems from Contol4, and Hunter Douglas
